Perla Judith Beltrán Acosta (born September 30, 1986) is a Mexican model and beauty queen from the state of Sinaloa, and the first runner-up at the 2009 Miss World pageant.[1]
An industrial engineering alum, Perla Beltrán was born in Culiacán, and raised in Guamúchil from the age of ten. Despite her admiration for beauty queens as a child, Beltrán never expected to take part in the peageant world. However, her mother led her to compete in a local contest for the first time in 2001, taking home the title.[2]
In 2007, she competed in Miss Earth Mexico and obtained second place (Miss Air). A year later, twenty-one year old Beltrán represented her native Sinaloa in the 2008 national Nuestra Belleza Mexico contest held in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon on September 20 of that year.[3] She obtained second place among thirty-two other contestants and the right to compete in the 59th international Miss World pageant held in Johannesburg, South Africa.[4]
Perla Beltrán won the Miss World Top Model fast track event and award, enabling her to advance to the semifinals.[5] She previously placed among the top twelve in the Beach Beauty fast track event. Beltrán subsequently obtainted the title of Miss World Americas and placed second during the final competition of Miss World 2009, held December 12, 2009.
In 2010, she was crowned as Miss Grand Slam 2009 by Globalbeauties
She also placed in top 10 Face of the Year and top 10 Sexiest Woman Alive by Globalbeauties. She was also named Sexiest in Americas for that award.
